About Deborah Irish
Through my art, I want to help people commemorate that special moment they experienced during any natural phenomenon. Including solar eclipses and other natural phenomena, such as aurora borealis, erupting volcanoes, lighting, etc. When a photograph just won't do, I can create an oil painting, capturing that special moment in a way that no camera can. I am accepting commissions for custom oil paintings based on your experience.
My passion for art began with watercolors when I was in high school. I worked in watercolors for years (still do) and discovered acrylics 1989. I started experimenting with acrylics, painting murals and faux finishes in our home. Which lead to being commissioned as a professional muralist and faux finisher. I also kept busy with private fine art commissions.
Witnessing The Great American Total Solar Eclipse in 2017, sent me on an all-new trajectory with my art, switching from acrylics to oils. Working in oils & experimenting with new techniques, I am able to achieve the effect I want to represent the vivid colors of a solar eclipse as well as other natural phenomina.
